We’re in a very cold spell but the fishing goes on, a pleasant surprise in Heartbeat and what’s your problem, granddad?

Before I set off for the River Severn, I asked my wife how mad I was on a scale of 1-10 to go fishing in a sub-zero temperature.

Her understanding of the question was a resounding ten.

She may have a point.

However, on a serious level, although it’s cold you don’t have to stop fishing.

What you have to do though is wrap up well.

You certainly wouldn’t want to be at the water’s edge in ‘normal’ clothes.

Once you’ve ticked that box, it’s all about where you fish and the species.
