An afternoon on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal going for quality over quantity

While I was fishing, my wife renewed my Birmingham Anglers Association (BAA) card over the telephone.

I knew in advance what the response from John Williams would be as soon as she mentioned it was for me, and I wasn’t disappointed.

‘How’s the old man?’, he asked, as he does every year.

The BAA card, by the way, is excellent value for money and if you’re in the catchment area, I’d certainly recommend it.

In fact, back to today’s session and I was on a BAA stretch.

With a couple of exceptions, the club controls the S/W Canal fishing all the way from Wombourne (Botterham) to the River Severn (Stourport).
