Nice to be back on the bank and another woodland pool session

I fished a small waggler float 1.5 rod lengths from the bank in five feet of water.

There was no weight on the 4lb line other than around the float, so the two/three maggots on the size 12 hook sunk slowly through the water.

With minimal weed in the area, albeit dying, it also helped to keep the bait above that.

I hand-fed loose maggots and caught from the off, with roach the predominant species present in the swim.

I also had a rudd/roach hybrid and a perch, as well as pulling out of a decent stripey.
