I fished off a clump of willows, which always helps when there’s extra water. as the branches in the river help to deflect the effect of the flow.
I went for 6lb line straight through to a size 4 hook and with a small shot and bead about six inches away, that is keeping it very simple.
A 1/4 ounce lead easily held bottom, as I flicked the bait off the edge of the willows.
