A pine hawk-moth caterpillar on the South Staffordshire Railway Walk

My previous blog entry featured the South Staffordshire Railway Walk.

While in the Holbeche area, it was my wife who noticed a large caterpillar on the ground.

If you know the area, it’s where the Corsican pines are.

They are a dominant feature and were planted so that trains were hidden from the Earl of Dudley’s Himley Hall view.
