The SSRW is a designated local nature reserve, which follows the original line from Castlecroft, on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, to Holbeche, Wall Heath.
The length is about 5.5 miles although I walked – with my wife and dog – a much shorter section.
We started at Himley station and went on to where the walk crosses the A449 at Holbeche.
Holbeche House, just yards away, has connections with the gunpowder plot of 1605.
Perhaps that’s for another blog entry.
