The grass withers and the flowers of the field fall – Reflections on the life and death of Queen Elizabeth II

I have a number of old original newspapers and in particular, in this context, some from 1935 and 1937.

The first year celebrated the silver jubilee of George V and the second was George VI’s coronation.

The common thread, as far as this blog entry is concerned, is that Princess Elizabeth, as she was then, was involved in both.

You can see some of the newspaper images in the accompanying video, and the lead photograph also includes an original coronation flag from 1953, when Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne herself.
