The line strength used was 1lb 6oz with a size 8 shot a few inches away from the size 16 hook.
I go for a 16 because it doesn’t get swallowed as easily as a smaller hook.
Fishing close to the bank, which is undercut, I watched the fish attack the maggot.
That’s why I use white, it’s more visible in the water.
Plus, I nick the end of the maggot, which not only releases juices, but lets the smaller sticklebacks hang on.
