I set the small float with just enough shot either side to sink it low in the water,
There was no other weight on the line until the hook, which was a size 14 Drennan Super Specialist.
I loose fed maggots and fished two on the hook.
Keeping low and quiet, I had fish from the start and could spot them reasonably well in the water which was fairly clear.
I caught a few roach but the catch was predominantly perch.
