Welcome to Newport, feeding the tourist gene and an incident on a bridge

There is a castle in the city itself, which dates back to the 14th century.

Naturally, it has a lot of history of its own including being taken by Owain Glyndŵr.

Then again, by Oliver Cromwell, during the English Civil War.

It’s such a historic monument, yet it has to be fenced off to protect it from vandals.

A sad sign of the times in which we live.
