I was in a new spot, on a small pool, and a previous visit where I cast around with a lead had revealed a relatively clear area in what is quite a weedy place.
Weed has been an issue for me on one particular venue I’ve fished a lot recently, therefore it was quite a luxury to cast out knowing that my bait was there for the taking.
I only caught two fish in an hour or so.
One was a roach and the other the tench that you can see above.
It might not be as big as ones I’ve caught from gravel pits and estate lakes over the years but from the pool in question I was really pleased.
