I can remember the winter of discontent in 1978/1979.
Strikes abounded with hospitals, railways, hauliers and many more sectors involved, causing massive disruption to our way of life.
It was a tough time all round and a year before we saw green goddesses, operated by the British Army, on the streets as fire fighters were on strike.
All this happened under a Labour government by the way.
I also recall our Prime Minister at the time, Jim Callaghan, saying ‘Crisis? What Crisis?’
Or did he?
Well, it made for a good Sun headline.
