A slow angling session on the Staffs/Worcs Canal

This evening I visited the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal for a short session.

I’ve been doing very well for a while now, as far as angling is concerned, however it was incredibly slow today.

I had a few slight dips on the float but, by the time I packed away, all I had to show for the session was the small roach in the lead image.

Fishing the boat channel at the time I did meant that not only was the canal quiet but the light levels were dropping.

Although I had a couple of maggots on a size 14 hook, the fish just weren’t obliging.

It’s the way it is sometimes.
