A very early canal fishing session, the heatwave, morning run and radio slots recorded

As far as I’m concerned, whatever the weather is just enjoy it for what it is and make the most of it.

Regarding angling, just go anyway.

It’s important to bear in mind fish welfare though at all times, especially so in the current conditions.

That’s why this morning, I fished a section of canal with water coming through the lock system, ensuring it was fresh and well-oxygenated.

I used a Greys Prodigy 12’ rod and a Shimano 3500 reel loaded with Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.

The float was a 0.6g Drennan Crystal Waggler.

I started with a Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook and two white maggots.
