In conversation with Dan Atherton, the goalkeeper who played his first senior game for Liverpool as an outfield player, aided and abetted by Jürgen Klopp and James Milner

The first signing of the season for The New Saints is Dan Atherton.

Prior to today’s game against Warrington Rylands FC, where the young ‘keeper played the full ninety minutes, we sat down at Park Hall and chatted.

He began his career at Liverpool FC and progressing through the club, made his first senior appearance against Tranmere Rovers.

Not as a goalkeeper though but an outfield player.
