This was my fourth visit in a week to the same estate lake and, once again having the place to myself, I set up in the same swim as well.
Fishing the shallower end of the venue, I was pestered by diving water birds mopping up sweetcorn.
I had coots, mallards, a pair of mandarin ducks and two tufted ducks.
It didn’t stop me catching my first tench though.
A gentle tap on the rod tip, followed by a feisty fight, and it was in the net, on the mat and in front of the camera.
