This was my first tench session of the year, and with my full-time working life coming to an end on April 30, a taste of what’s to come.
I’ve fished this particular venue on numerous occasions over the years, but the first at this particular time of the year, as previously it’s been subject to the old close season dates.
I decided to fish the shallower end of the lake, working on the basis that we have had some reasonably decent weather for a while now and the fish will be on the move.
I had nothing to worry about, as within thirty minutes of being there I started to get plucks, and then I banked my first tench of the year caught by design.
