It wasn’t a wasted journey though, walking in the countryside never is.
No squirrels, but I did some bird watching, and then from Newborough we went to Malltraeth.
The pools alongside the estuary were excellent as far as birds were concerned, with black-tailed godwits, teal and a great egret anong others.
It was the red squirrels that I really wanted though and with a few more days of the holiday left, we’ll be back hoping for more joy second time around.
