A Change Is As Good As A Rest – A Morning Session On The Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal

It’s been a while since I fished the Staffs/Worcs Canal but that’s where this morning’s angling took me.

I didn’t set an alarm, but nevertheless I still beat the sun and in no time at all I was sitting next to ‘the cut’, as it is known in the Black Country.

That’s very descriptive, actually, because go back in time to the industrial revolution and the canal system was dug, or cut, by hand.

Nowadays, it’s pleasure boats that you’re going to engage with, although you do get the occasional working boat.
