Sticklebacks By Design, A Short Session Before Work

I didn’t need the alarm this morning. I was naturally up about 6.15 and, after a cup of tea, I was in the car and on my way to a brook.

It’s a tiny tributary of another brook, which then through a series of other waterways, eventually makes its way into the Bristol Channel.

I heard my first chiffchaff of the year today and when I arrived at the water’s edge, a pair of mallards flew off.

I regularly see kingfishers but it’s the first time I’ve seen ducks on there.
