In the town for a JD Cymru Premier game at Flint Town United with The New Saints, I arrived early so that I could explore the castle.
Killing two birds with one stone. Indeed.
It’s very close to the ground, which is called Cae-y-Castell. In English that means the castle field.
Constructed in the 13th century, it was the first of the north Wales castles built by Edward I.
I enjoyed the short walk round. I love history and connecting with the past.
