A Very Short – But Productive – Session Before Storm Dudley Arrives

I had a certain amount of work-related stuff to do today but working from home meant I was able to get that sorted during the morning.

I was lure fishing this side of midday and continued just beyond it, all in all a pretty short session.

You know what they say though, quality over quantity, and as far as time was concerned, that was most definitely the case.

I caught two pike, which I was really pleased with, although no perch.

Im not exactly complaining though. Just saying.

With Storm Dudley on the way – it’s here now as I write – I was happy to get out there in conditions that were much easier as far as lure fishing is concerned.

While I fished, I watched two great crested grebes displaying.

A sign that spring is on the way.

The tackle I fished with was as follows:

Fox Rage Ultron drop shot rod, Fox Rage Ultron 2500 reel, 10lb Sunline braid on reel.

Drennan Double Strength 15lb (1.5 metres) joined to the braid with a small swivel.

Micro jig head 0.7g size 6 hook. Glider 2 inch rubber fish. All knots (3) blood knots.
