I was up early this morning, before 6.00 a.m. to be precise.
Not for fishing though, but work.
I got to bed after midnight, travelling home from a working football game near Wrexham.
By the time I finished the post-match stuff today it was early afternoon.
Still time for a short session though.
The conditions were definitely harsher than they’ve been in recent weeks and I managed just one roach.
I did have a hook-pull on a big perch though. It would have been a very different session indeed if I had landed that.
As you can see from the video, the afternoon session brought back memories.
If you know the tackle shop that I’m referring to in Dudley, let me know here.
The tackle used today was as follows:
Greys Prodigy 12’ rod and a Shimano 3500 reel loaded with Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
The float was a 0.6g Drennan Crystal Waggler.
The hook was a Drennan Super Specialist size 14 with two white maggots.
I fished one rod length from the bank in 3/4 feet of water and fed sloppy brown crumb and loose maggots.
