Small Brook Angling Session, Muntjac Watching, Just Three Months To Go

Although I’ve blanked two days on the bounce after River Severn chub, I would have returned today.

It’s a working game later though, as Welsh football returns.

Fishing a brook, I caught my target species, the three-spined stickleback.

There’s more of the session in the video, including footage – albeit at distance on my iPhone – of a feeding muntjac.

In reference to the ‘just three months to go’ comment, on April 21 I will be sixty years old.

Again, there’s more of that in the short video.

I’m not wishing my life away but I’m looking forward to implementing plans that I’ve had for many years.

The tackle fished with was as follows:

Poachers Pocket mini-rod and reel.

Reel line was 4lb Maxima Chameleon, leading to Ultima Virage 1lb 6oz fluorocarbon, joined by a loop-to-loop knot.

There was a size 6 shot about four inches from the hook.

The hook was a Kamasan size 16 (not 18, as I referenced once in the video), with a single white maggot as bait.

I use a white maggot as it stands out better in the water.
