This is the time of the year when you are still adding new ticks to your birding list.
The only one I’m keeping in 2022 is my garden list and it’s now up to 22.
The latest addition is a male blackcap, so absolutely thrilled to get that one.
I was upstairs with my binoculars and it was briefly in the garden, eyeing up the feeding station, before departing.
The other birds seen were as follows:
wood pigeon (adult, juvenile), blackbird (m), great tit (m, f), blue tit, goldfinch, robin, magpie, dunnock, lesser black-backed gull, chaffinch (m, f), blackcap (m), carrion crow, collared dove.
The birds in question regarding the early hours were wood pigeons.
There were a number calling in the local woodland at 1.30 a.m. this morning.
