I was out at first light today, although it wasn’t exactly early.
As we approach the shortest day of the year, we still have a few minutes to knock off each day before then.
Before we turn the corner though, it’s a case of getting on with it and that meant I was fishing about 7.45 a.m.
I was mini-jigging and it was slow. In fact, just the one perch on the bank, hence the blog entry heading.
The tackle I fished with was as follows: Fox Rage Ultron drop shot rod, Fox Rage Ultron 2500 reel, 10lb Sunline braid on reel.
Fox Rage Illusion fluorocarbon 10lb 3oz (1.5 metres) joined to the braid with a small swivel.
Micro jig head 1g size 6 hook. Glider 2 inch rubber fish. All knots (3) blood knots.
