My work in football is varied and the journey certainly takes me to some interesting places.
On this occasion it was to a village in the Welsh county of Montgomeryshire. It’s an area where some of my Welsh roots are as well.
I’ll do a specific blog entry on why I was there in due course, because it was an FAW (Football Association of Wales) initiative, and I’ll wait until they release their video first.
While I was there though, and as the filming took place in the churchyard, I took advantage of the setting to capture some brief footage.
The church itself goes back to the twelfth century and has a wonderful view across the local area.
Although in Llansantffraid, the location on my iPhone came up as Llanfyllin, which is where some of my ancestors lived. Definitely an ‘hiraeth’ experience being there.
Watch the short video here. It is set to music, and while I would have preferred a natural background, it was quite windy at times.
