I was up at 5.30 this morning and it was already light. I’m not looking to hit the canal that early though, just a couple of hours before getting on with the rest of the day.
It was another pleasant morning, dry and hardly any wind, which is typical of the weather for more than a week now.
I fished with a Greys Prodigy 12’ rod and a Shimano 3500 reel loaded with Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
There was 5 feet length of 2lb 8oz Ultima Virage fluorocarbon joined by a loop-to-loop knot.
The float was a 0.6g Drennan Crystal Waggler. The hook was a Drennan Super Specialist size 18.
I fished the boat channel, with brown crumb and mixed maggots and single white maggot on the hook.
