Three Species Of Fish On An Afternoon Canal Session

After a number of consecutive first-light angling sessions, today was dictated by the fact that I got home late yesterday after a game and also needed to be up early working.

No problem, though, I just fished at the end of the day as opposed to the start of it.

You can follow the session below, as well as commenting at the base of the blog entry, if you wish.

I fished with a 9’ John Wilson Masterline Debut rod and a Shimano 3500 reel, loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon.

The lead was a 1/4 ounce bomb, with a size 6 shot and 5mm bead. The hook was a Drennan Super Specialist size 16.

I fished towards a permanently moored boat, with two maggots over mixed maggots and brown crumb.
