12.15 p.m.
We had our first nuthatch in the garden yesterday, that was great. I saw an otter on the Staffs/Worcs Canal this morning.
Let’s see what turns up during the next hour at home, as I bird from the comfort of the living room.
12.20 p.m.
First visitor on the feeding station is a wood pigeon, followed by a blue tit and a robin.
We monitor it every day so there’s always plenty of food to keep them coming.
12.30 p.m.
Great tit and magpie. Male and female chaffinch in neighbouring tree, it’s a regular haunt for them.
Female blackbird feeding on berries in our garden.
12.40 p.m.
Coal tit in neighbour’s garden and dunnock in ours. It’s often found in the low bush outside the kitchen window.
1.00 p.m.
Two carrion crow in flight. Coal tit on our feeding station. Male blackbird in neighbouring garden.
1.15 p.m.
Lots of bird activity, so plenty to watch. The great thing about our living room is that it doesn’t overlook anyone else’s windows, which is preferable when you’re looking out of yours with binoculars.
