I was back out on the canal at first light again this morning for another short session, before I got on with the rest of the day.
I share a few personal thoughts on retirement in the video. I often use the recording time on the bank in this way.
Moving to our new home, and surrounded by retired people is a reminder that time does march on and you do have to think about the future.
That’s not a reflection on my employer or my job, by the way, far from it.
Anyway, as you can see, I don’t want to fully retire, ever, but to continue working in some capacity indefinitely, if possible.
As well as the video, you can also view some of the fish from this morning by clicking the gallery images below.
I fished with a Greys G Lite spinning rod (4-8lb) and a Shimano DL2500FA reel.
Maxima Chameleon 4lb reel line was joined to 1lb 6oz Ultima Virage fluorocarbon by a loop-to-loop knot.
The hook length was created by a 5mm bead and a size 6 shot. The lead was a 1/4 ounce bomb.
Single maggot was fished on a Drennan Super Specialist size 18 hook.
