A Working Game – Sort Of – As TNS FC’s Unbeaten Start To The Season Continues In Style

The New Saints’ impressive start to the season continues, this time it’s a 4-0 victory on the road at Cefn Druids.

A brace in the first-half from Greg Draper, and one from Blaine Hudson just before the whistle went, ensured that the league leaders had a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.

With just one more in the second period, crucially it fell to Greg, who added yet another hat-trick to his career tally.

It was a working game for me, although I would have to use ‘working’ lightly, as no provision was made for us to have access to electricity, seats or a table to work on.

Fortunately though, we made the most of it, and Sam had enough charge on his laptop to write a match report and tweet during the game.

We stood under a floodlight, which fortunately had a protruding flat section, that we used as a makeshift table.

I had just enough battery charge to do the post-match interviews but TNS Radio was a non-starter.

In effect, I watched the game as a spectator, which is a luxury as normally match days are busy. I prefer the latter though, metaphorically rolling up your sleeves and getting on with it.

That’s not complaining, by the way, just telling the narrative. If anything, it’s a positive to how we have to deal with life in general, when it doesn’t necessarily go our way.
