Not So Unlucky Thirteen, As The New Saints Win Again

The visit of Aberystwyth Town to Park Hall, in the JD Cymru Premier, was the thirteenth league game of the season for The New Saints.

It was anything but unlucky though, as the league leaders ran out 4-1 winners. The deadlock was broken in the third minute, with an Aberystwyth own goal.

Then, ten minutes before the break, the Seasiders levelled. Another own goal restored the lead as second-half substitute, Greg Draper, wrapped it up with a late brace.

It was also a foggy afternoon, and as the conditions worsened during the action, I was glad it didn’t get to the point of the match being abandoned.

There are still no fans allowed in Welsh football and I can’t see that changing any time soon. Working at The New Saints, though, means that I get to watch TNS matches, and this was my twenty-seventh of the season

With the second and third-placed teams also winning, it’s as you were at the top of the table. If they both win their game in hand, the lead would be three and five points respectively,
