Join Me Live Blogging On Another Reservoir Angling Session

12.30 p.m.

Good afternoon and welcome to another session that comes live from the water’s edge.

You can visit for regular updates, as well as join me – on here at least – via the comments box below.

12.45 p.m.

Lots of roach bites from the start. At least I’m not a blanker.

1.00 p.m.

Lots of small roach out there and that’s no problem. I’m a believer that a crowd attracts a crowd and in particular small roach attract big perch. That’s the plan, anyway.

I’m fishing with a Fox Barbel Specialist 1.5lb test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel, loaded with 6lb Maxima Chameleon.

The hook length is created by a small shot and bead and I’m fishing two maggots on a Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook. The lead is a 1/3 Guru flat lead.

I’m fishing twenty metres out feeding balls of brown crumb and mixed maggots. It’s a big reservoir and I’m fishing in twelve feet of water.

1.40 p.m.

At 11.2C, the water temperature is down from my previous visit. Go to the blog entries page for the two sessions I did recently. You can’t miss them, both have lead images looking out across the reservoir.

3.00 p.m.

Here’s one I made earlier – A man sandwich

4.00 p.m.

Off the mark with the target species!

Great colours, my favourite fish

5.20 p.m.

Another enjoyable session, with the initial small roach eventuality being muscled out by the bigger perch.

I mentioned the plan. It worked! I enjoy live blogging and as long as it doesn’t interfere with your fishing, that’s the important thing.

The final fish of the session
