I played football yesterday evening. After seven months off, due to the Covid-19 situation, it’s good to be back.
Last week was my first game and I could hardly walk the next morning. This time round, though, it was much easier, and I was on the canal bright and early doing some fishing.
There are miles upon miles of ‘cut’, as it is known locally, so I’m always spoilt for choice.
I had an hour lure fishing, and it was right at the end that the chub in the lead image took the small rubber minnow.
It was a tiny fish but even then, on the tackle I was using, it put up a good fight.
I always enjoy every session that I have, whether I catch a small one or lots of big fish. Even when I blank, I still get something from the time spent in the great outdoors.
The tackle I fished with was as follows: Fox Rage Ultron drop shot rod, Fox Rage Ultron 2500 reel, 10lb Sunline braid on reel.
Fox Rage Illusion fluorocarbon 10lb 3oz (2 metres) joined to the braid with a small swivel.
Fox Rage micro jig head 1g size 4 hook. Berkley powerbait 2 inch rubber minnow. All knots (3) blood knots.
This is what you get if you type ‘lure’ into my website search engine.
Plenty to have a go at if you’re a beginner regarding this way of fishing. I most definitely recommend it.
