My body woke naturally this morning at 5.45 a.m. and I was canal-side before it was properly light.
Just a short session, but certainly better than nothing, you can see how I got on below.
The water temperature reading was 13.4C, which was down 0.8C from my last canal session, yesterday.
The rod I fished with was a 12’ Greys Prodigy TX and the reel was a Shimano DL2500FA, loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon.
Joined by a loop-to-loop knot, there was an 18’’ length of Ultra Virage fluorocarbon 2.5lb line to a Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
The float was a Drennan 3BB crystal waggler. I fished with double maggot on the hook over brown crumb / loose maggots.
Really enjoying the float fishing on the canal you have been doing lately. Saw one of your videos a couple of days back when you caught a monster ruffe from the canal, amazing fish. I have a Stewart Bloor video binge on a Friday night, particularly enjoyed one where you fished over Christmas a few years ago on a boat with another fisherman, the night before you had caught a few minutes of one of those physic tv shows and it said you would find romance on a boat, it made me chuckle 😁
That’s great, Chris! You’ve brought some memories back for me there as well!
