I intended to go fishing this morning but didn’t set a time. However, waking up naturally nice and early, I was on a canal at 7.30 a.m.
You can follow the session via the video below, and in with the expected perch and roach, I caught a bullhead.
I said I haven’t caught too many from the canal but thinking about it afterwards, actually it’s a first as far as I recall. A very pleasant surprise indeed.
The rod I fished with was a 12’ Greys Prodigy TX and the reel was a Shimano DL2500FA, loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon.
Joined by a loop-to-loop knot, there was a 12” length of Ultra Virage fluorocarbon 2.5lb line to a Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
The float was a Drennan 3BB crystal waggler. I fished with double maggot on the hook over brown crumb / loose maggots.
