First Football Game In 152 Days – As Far As Opponents Are Concerned, Picking Up Where I Left Off

My last game – that was also between Barry Town United and The New Saints FC – was way back in March. I had no idea then, that not only weeks, but months, would pass before I again watched a football match.

This one was a behind-closed-doors friendly at the Cardiff International Sports Stadium, and due to its nature I was only there courtesy of my involvement in football, as it was closed to the general public. There may still be some time to go before we can enjoy the beautiful game like we used to.

A gorgeous day in the capital, it was good to be back on track as far as the rubber hitting the football road was concerned though. Journeying to and from Cardiff, on one of the team buses (there were two due to the Covid-19 restrictions), it was also nice to be back travelling with the players.

As a keen groundhopper, I also include my working games in with the ones that I go to watch for pleasure. Due to the current situation, I’m not sure I’ll make my usual 100+ this season (as per last time round as well). It will be a case of seeing how it goes.

Take a look at my groundhopping pages, where I’ve also added a new one for 2020/2021. Hopefully it will go in the right direction.
