First Day Back At Work Since March 23 And Picking Up Piscatorially Where I Left Off

If you follow my angling adventures on a regular basis then you’ll know that I often fish a canal on the way to work.

Back in this morning, I picked up where I left off, as once again I had a short session on the Montgomery Canal.

It’s all about making the most of every opportunity, and just because I’m now back at work, it won’t affect the fact that I will still be fishing a lot.

My angling habits – as well as the venues – will change, as I adapt to a different lifestyle, but the bottom line is that I’ll still be doing lots of angling.

The tackle I fished with was as follows: Poachers Pocket mini-rod and reel. Reel line was 4lb Maxima Chameleon.

The line went straight through to the hook, which was a Drennan Super Specialist micro barbed size 18.

The hook-length of six inches was created by a size 6 shot and 5mm bead, with a 1/4 ounce free-running bomb lead.

Bait was a single white maggot and I loose fed brown crumb and mixed maggots.

I fished next to a road bridge at the point where the canal widens, in the boat channel.
