A Great Brook Session After Sticklebacks And A Nice Surprise Visitor In The Swim

You can follow my latest session via the video below. It’s also an extended one, as well, ten minutes in total.

I’ve been doing a lot of stickleback fishing recently, as you can see if you type stickleback in the search engine.

It’s all good, I am loving it and there’s definitely more to come.

The tackle I fished with was as follows: Poachers Pocket mini-rod and reel. Reel line was 4lb Maxima Chameleon, leading to Ultima Virage 1lb 6oz fluorocarbon, joined by a loop-to-loop knot.

I nipped a size 4 shot on the line and the hook was a Drennan Super Specialist micro barbed size 18. Bait was a single white maggot.

  1. Hi Stewart, another great blog/video. Really enjoyed it; especially mini species and the brooks/ponds/streams. The arrival of a Bullhead was very interesting. You normally have them in faster moving streams and stony ones at that; at least that is what I thought, but I think you’d said you’d previously. seen them at that location. It must be clean water. I look forward to the next one.

    1. Hello, Mark, thanks for the kind words.
It’s quite close to the source so is good quality water.
I thought I had seen loach, as well as sticklebacks, that was before I even fished it.
Today’s sighting has certainly got me inspired, so I’ll definitely be back very soon.
