Tench Fishing An English Estate Lake – Variety Is The Spice Of Life

Variety is the spice of life, they say, and that’s certainly true for me as far as my angling is concerned.

Even a casual glance down my blog entries page reveals diversity of species, tactics and venues. The joy of being an all-rounder.

The latest adventure was on the lake that I’ve fished several times since the middle of June, and you can follow the session via the video below.

The tackle that I fished with was as follows: Fox Barbel Special 11’ 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel.

The reel was loaded with 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with an eight inch hook-length of 5lb Drennan Team England, created by a size 10 swivel and an 5mm bead. Above that was a 1/4 ounce lead.

The bait was a Corn-shaped sinker boilie hair-rigged to a size 10 Drennan Boilie Hook. I loose fed brown crumb and corn, with SBS Baits tutti frutti flavouring in with the mix.
