Celebrating Seventeen Years By Going Tench Fishing In Shropshire – A Happy Anniversary Indeed

Time certainly flies, and with today marking seventeen years as a blogger, I celebrated by returning to the place where it all began, on July 5, 2003.

There’s more here: Happy Birthday, Blog – Seventeen Years Old Today as well as the link to the debut blog entry that kicked it all off.

The tackle that I fished with was as follows: Fox Barbel Special 11’ 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel.

The reel was loaded with 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six inch hook-length of 5lb Drennan Team England, created by a small swivel and an 8mm bead. Above that was a 1/4 ounce lead.

The bait was a Corn-shaped sinker boilie hair-rigged to a size 10 Drennan Boilie Hook. I fed brown crumb and corn, fishing about three rod lengths out into open water.
