A Birding Walk Around Turls Hill, Sedgley

At the start of the coronavirus lockdown in March, when restrictions were extremely tight, I did most of my daily walks at either Sedgley Beacon or Turls Hill.

It’s been a while since I visited either, so it was good to return to the latter. Considering it’s in the Black Country, it has a very rural feel to it.

Birds seen (in order of appearance) were: house sparrow, lesser black-backed gull, swift, blackbird, wood pigeon, carrion crow, magpie, robin, stock dove, goldfinch, chiffchaff, chaffinch, wren, blackcap, song thrush, feral pigeon.

Here’s my 2020 bird list which is not as extensive as it normally is at this time of the year, due to limited travel during lockdown. It’s slowly moving on though now.
