I’ve been extremely blessed the last couple of years to have been invited to the Wolverhampton Wanderers’ end-of-season dinner and awards evening, courtesy of sponsors. The events, held at Telford International Centre, were very well organised, and with a couple of tickets, my wife accompanied me on both occasions.
We had great seats as well, near the front and alongside the players. Debby was chatting with the likes of Connor Coady and Morgan Gibbs-White this time (lead image on the video below), as you do.
Talking of celebrities though, I never realised the first year we went that we had access into the main room via the red carpet. So, this time round, I made sure my wife was behind me and that she took a photograph.
After all, it’s not every day you get to stroll on the crimson floor that is usually reserved for famous people. I do hold the barbel record though for the River Sow, if that counts?
On a serious note however, I loved the events. They were great experiences and reminders, on a personal level, that the world of football has been very kind to me.
