Turls Hill Birding… Spotted Flycatcher, Peregrine Falcon

Another walk around Turls Hill, this time an evening stroll. With the sun out and the temperature still very pleasant indeed, the birds were active.

There’s more in the video below, but although my spotted flycatcher was a false alarm, I have seen three there in recent years.

No mistaking the peregrine though. High in the sky, at one stage it arched its wings and launched into an attack, but then eased off.

Birds seen: wood pigeon, magpie, stock dove, dunnock, chaffinch, long-tailed tit, lesser black-backed full, chiffchaff, goldfinch, common buzzard, carrion crow, peregrine falcon, starling, blackbird, house sparrow, great spotted woodpecker, great tit, green woodpecker, robin, pheasant.
