Q Is For Qualification – Memories From Working In The World Of Football 2019

I always enjoy watching the Wales national side in action, whether that be a friendly or a competitive game. The fixture against Hungary last November, was not only in the latter category, but also there was much at stake.

In fact, win the game and Wales would qualify for the Euro 2020 tournament – since moved to 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Like most of the others I’ve been to, it was played at the Cardiff City Stadium, and the atmosphere was great. It was a brilliant day all round, from the pre-match afternoon spent in both Cardiff and at St Fagans Museum, where we went to see The Art Of The Wales Shirt Exhibition, right through to the game itself.

Wales won 2-0 and the video below includes fans on the way to the game, inside the stadium, the singing of the national anthem and the post-match player celebrations.

I’m proud to be English but I’m also equally proud of my Welsh roots. The two sit very comfortably side-by-side as far as I’m concerned. Ultimately, your identity is about how you feel as an individual.
