Although it’s in Welsh, it doesn’t disguise the fact that The New Saints’ 2-1 home defeat to Newtown AFC was not the result that the reigning JD Cymru Premier champions wanted. When the home side cancelled out the Robins’ early lead, most would have expected them to push on. Instead it was the visitors who scored the vital third goal, that gave them maximum points come the final whistle.

However, the positive is that TNS FC still leads the way at the top of the league, albeit by just one point, as Connah’s Quay Nomads won 3-1 on the road at Barry Town United. With nine games to go, there’s still everything to play for though and the following weeks will be very interesting indeed, I’m sure.

A home working game is always very busy and hospitality interviews with players Chris Marriott (lead image), Jamie Mullan and Jon Routledge meant that it was a case of fitting it all in with the rest of the things that I do.

It is a privilege to work full-time in football though and it has certainly been an interesting journey so far. I also enjoy doing interviews very much and even when they’re not recorded, as was the case with these which for the hospitality guests, it’s always good.
