My 40th Game Of The Season, A New Ground And A Win For The New Saints FC. Maes Tegid Has a Rival For Most Scenic Setting In The JD Cymru Premier.

On a personal level I was looking forward to this fixture very much because I’ve never been to the Kymco Stadium before, so as a keen groundhopper, not only was it a new one on the list but also another new Welsh ground.

There are some superb settings for football in Wales but in the top flight, it’s always been Bala Town’s Maes Tegid for me. However, after being at Penybont FC, I have to say that the Kymco has replaced it at the top.

From the main stand there are superb views of the hills that fringe the horizon. It was also a sunny day and that, of course, added to the aesthetics. I was there for a working game though and on that front as well, it was a happy one.

The New Saints won the game 3-2, with a late goal from Dean Ebbe that secured the points, after the hosts came back twice from being behind. Although second from bottom, the Bont battled well and showed plenty of energy.

This was my 40th game of the season and my 57th Welsh ground overall. You can visit my groundhopping pages here.
