With the warmest Easter Monday on record raising the temperatures well into the twenties, I set off for the village of Enville. Although not as spectacular as many of the Welsh grounds I have visited, nevertheless the setting of Enville Athletic FC’s Hall Lane is very picturesque.
The Midland Football League Division Three game ended 6-0 to the visitors. They were sharper, more focused and hungrier than their Staffordshire opponents.
It was 4-0 at the break and although Enville stepped it up at the start of the second half, by then the damage had been done. Two more goals ensured that it was a happy journey back home to Warwickshire for Alcester Town FC come the final whistle.
It was also a pleasant trip for me as I added another ground to the list. Visit my football pages.
